PESHAWAR: Security forces on Saturday gunned down three t
errorists in an exchange of fire.
According to a police official, an exchange of fire took place between the t
errorists and security forces on Golachi Road, in whic
h three were gunned down.
Security forces had raided
the area in search of the suspected t
errorists after receiving a tip regarding the presence of nefarious t
errorists in
the area. Security forces claimed that these t
errorists were involved in conducting attacks in Pakistan and were also linked to foreign t
errorist organisations. The Pakistan Army is on the hunt for t
errorists after a spate of t
errorist attacks killed more than 100 people across Pakistan. Afghanistan-based t
errorist outfit Jamaatul Ahrar had claimed responsibility for the attacks. According to media reports, the Pakistan Army destroyed hideouts of the JuA in Afghanistan on Friday night.
Meanwhile, Pak-Afghan border remained closed for second consecutive day.
