ISLAMABAD: United States (US) State Department’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Alice G Wells arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday for an official visit.
Wells will be meeting representatives of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) along with government officials to discuss Pak-US bilateral relations, Afghanistan’s exit and peace process and regional affairs.
The official will also be shedding light on President Trump’s regional policy to counter terrorism towards its ally Pakistan in the war against terror. The talks will also outline collaboration of both the countries in economic and commercial fields.
Wells will also be commuting to Karachi to meet business community along with the government officials.
He previously visited Pakistan in January 2018, accompanied by US National Security Council senior officials and Ambassador David Hale. She has been persistent that Pakistan is a critical player and ally for US strategy on eliminating terrorism in the South Asian region.
