ISLAMABAD: The Pa
kistan Army on Monday rubbished the allegations of mutilating Indian soldiers’ bodies, saying it would never disrespect a soldier’s body.
“Pa
kistan Army did not commi
t any ceasefire violation on the Line of Control or a BAT [Border Action Team] action in the Buttal sector (Indian Krishna Ghatti Sector) as alleged by India,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
“Indian blame of mutilating Indian soldiers’ bodies are also false. Pa
kistan Army is a highly professional force and shall never disrespect a soldier even Indian,” it maintained in a statement. It said the Pa
kistani troops opened fire on Indian posts in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, and members of Border Action Team (BAT) attacked a patrolling party.
“In a unsoldierly act by the Pa
kistan Army, the bodies of two of our soldiers in the patrol were mutilated,” the Indian Army claimed in a statement, adding that the ‘despicable act will be appropriately respond
edR17;. The claim from the Indian side came via a tweet from the verified account of the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information. It also accused Pa
kistan of what it called ‘unprovok
edR17; rocket and mortar firing across the heavily m
ilitarised Line of Control but gave no further details. Army spokesman NN Joshi said the victims were a junior officer and a border
guard. Another
guard from India’s Border Security Force was injured, Joshi said.
