ISLAMABAD: India and Afghanistan disabled cricket teams have withdrawn from the forthcoming Physical Disability Cricket Tournament-2016, scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 20 to 25. According to Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) Secretary Amiruddin Ansari, he received an email from the Head of ECB Disability Cricket Manager, Ian Martin, in which he informed that his Indian and Afghanistan counterparts both have stated financial problems as the reason for their withdrawal from the tournament. “;Indian Disabled Cricket Team former captain Ajit Wadekar and Head of Afghanistan Disabled Cricket Team, Dr Abdul Mannan Masood, both have stated financial problems as the reason for their withdrawal,” he said. As per the revised schedule as many as three teams would participate in the tournament, including England, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The matches would be played on double round-robin basis, after that two top teams would qualify for the final. Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team would leave for Dubai on October 18.
